Block/Unblock Avatars

Firestorm lets you block other users so that you don't have to read their chat, hear their gestures or even see their avatar. This is useful if someone is griefing a sim and all you see is their griefing object. If you block the object, you also block the owner.

When someone is blocked they will not know, except that they will never receive any autoresponse.

Blocking

To block a person, right-click on them and select Mute from the pie menu, or Annoyance → Block from the context menu. To block an object, right-click on the object and select More → More → Block from the pie menu, or Annoyance → Block from the context menu.

You can also block someone who is chatting either nearby, in a group chat or in a private IM with you. Right click their name and select View Profile, then click Block. If they IMed you, close the IM; responding to someone who is blocked will automatically unblock them.

You can also block people listed in the People panel. Open the panel by clicking the People button on the bottom or side bar, then right-click on the name and select Block/Unblock. If it's checked, they're blocked.

You can also block people or objects from the Block list. In the people panel, click the options button (looks like a little gear or sprocket) and select Show Blocked Residents & Objects. At the bottom, click either Block person or Block object by name. Enter the details you have, then click OK.

Unblocking

There are several ways of unblocking someone:

One of the simplest ways to unblock someone is to just send them an IM.

If they are in visual range, right-click on their tag and choose Mute from the pie menu or Annoyance –> Block from the context menu.

You can unblock them in the people panel. Open the panel by clicking the people button in the bottom or side bar, then right-click on the name and select Block/Unblock. If it's not checked, they're not blocked.

You can also unblock by opening the block list. Open your People panel, then at the bottom of the panel, click the options button (looks like a little gear or sprocket) and select Show Blocked Residents & Objects.

Select the person you want to unblock, then click the Unblock button at the bottom.
